Make time to create together at the Rose Art Museum. Inspired by the intimate paintings in Jenna Gribbon: Entwined, this participatory drawing workshop invites friends, partners, loved ones, and even new acquaintances to explore the shared experience of seeing and being seen. Through a series of playful drawing exercises, participants will alternate between artist and subject, discovering how careful observation, conversation, and reciprocity can deepen our connections with one another. Inspired by Gribbon's own use of snapshots on her cell phone to crop and compose her paintings, several exercises will also incorporate participants' phones as creative tools for framing, seeing, and drawing from unexpected perspectives.
Led by Ariel Freiberg, the workshop is open to adults of all skill levels, and all drawing materials will be provided. Bring someone special or come on your own. Solo participants will be paired with others, making this a welcoming opportunity to meet new people while experiencing Gribbon's exhibition in a fresh and meaningful way.
Space is limited to 20 participants, and advance registration is encouraged.
