The exquisite voices of Exsultemus celebrate the Song of Mary in the Spanish and Portuguese Renaissance traditions. A joyous and moving text, the Mangificat expresses Mary’s jubilant response upon learning she will give birth to the Savior. Settings of this beloved canticle by Guerrero, Ortiz, and Cardoso will be heard alongside music dedicated to the Virgin Mary by Victoria, Navarro, de Brito, de Christo, and others.
