Celebrate one of Boston's most cherished Italian traditions as the Feast of the Madonna Della Cava returns to the North End for its 106th anniversary — August 7, 8 & 9, 2026, on Hanover & Battery Streets. Brought to Boston in the early 1900s by immigrants from Pietraperzia, Sicily, this beloved feast honors the Madonna Della Cava with a weekend of processions, live music, food, and community. Viva la Madonna Della Cava!
A time-honored tradition dating back over a century, the feast coincides with the festival held each August in Pietraperzia. In keeping with custom, a beautiful cloth banner bearing the Madonna's image — rather than a statue — is carried through the neighborhood during the procession.
