Mad, Bad and Perfectly Tatted: Writing tattooed baddies in romance

Since this event is taking place inside Short Path's Barrelhouse Bar, attendees need to be 21+.

From the bad boy leader of the local motorcycle gang to a gorgeous (but deadly) member of fae royalty, every tattoo tells a story. Tattoos in romance can go beyond bodily adornment, hinting at a character's mysterious past or forging a fiery connection between love interests.

But how, exactly, do you integrate these tattoos into the story -- and into the main character's backstory? Come join our latest writing workshop where we'll cover different genres to see how tattoos show up, and tips and tricks for adding these details to your own story!

After class, find your next favorite read at the onsite Read My Lips Boston pop-up! Attendees get 10% all of their book purchases.

What to expect:

Expect a mix of discussion, examples, and low-pressure writing prompts. All experience levels welcome. Be sure to bring your notebook, laptop, and/or other preferred writing tools! Meet your instructor:

Megan Hennessey got her start in romance at the height of 50 Shades of Grey at Sourcebooks Casablanca reading the slush pile. She continues sharing her love for romance by giving workshops and courses at writers’ groups, the Women in Publishing Summit, and the Editorial Freelancers’ Association.
