The midpoint of the year is a time for new awakenings, and Lovina Falls provide a compass for what’s ahead through The Spectral Sounds of Summer, an all-inclusive gathering that transforms sound and space on Saturday, July 11 at Sonia in Cambridge.
This specially-curated night reimagines music performance and explores the darker, more theatrical strains of the underground, with Valerie Forgione’s elegantly dramatic noir-pop project leading an inspired bill featuring the expansive soul shoegaze of The Veldt; the ethereal noise-gaze of Boston Calling alums Vivid Bloom; and the psychedelic dark dream-pop of scene newcomers Spirit Hotel.
It’s a mid-year benchmark for the evolution of our scene, and a sonic cleanse to prepare for all that lies ahead.
