Accent Modification Workshop with Boston Casting Helps Bring Your R’s Back
WHAT: Think stifling your Boston accent is wicked hahd? On Saturday, November 21st, 2015 the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will host Boston Casting and speech-language pathologist, Marjorie Feinstein-Whitaker, for a one-day workshop, “Lose Your Boston Accent”
In this four hour class, previously featured on The TODAY Show, students will learn how to turn their accent on and off through a variety of dictation and listening activities, as well as readings of sound-loaded paragraphs, and scripts. Perfect for aspiring actors and business professionals alike, students will acquire the skills to speak with a neutral, non-regional accent so they can nail any presentation or audition. Everyone will leave the class with a comprehensive workbook of training activities for independent practice, and a taped before-and-after reading so they can see the difference for themselves. Registration is required and available online at www.bcae.org or over the phone by calling the Boston Center for Adult Education at 617-267-4430.
