Live Figure Drawing Portraiture
(NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS - NO WALK-IN REGISTRATION)
Maximum number of attendees: 20
Portraiture - Tuesday, August 4
This session focuses on the art of portraiture, with a lightly clothed model seated close to the group for an intimate drawing experience. Working from a variety of angles — front, profile, and three-quarter views — you'll have the opportunity to study the structure of the face, capture likeness and expression, and explore the subtleties of features, proportion, and light and shadow. Artists are also encouraged to bring a friend and take the opportunity to sketch one another alongside the model.
General Information
CAA provides tables and chairs for all attendees. Attendees are welcome to bring their own standing or tabletop easel. Attendees must bring their own materials. Please note: artists may bring dry or water-based media. Oil and acrylic paints are not allowed in this figure drawing session. There is no instructor present for the long, rapid and portraiture classes. Please avoid oil paints or any toxic, smelly, or messy materials that could splatter or spill in our gallery space.
We work with a diverse roster of models representing different ages, genders, and body types. All sessions are in person, and will be with a nude or lightly clothed model.
Registration for these sessions is open to the public. Make sure to review our Registration Policies.
