Saturday, September 23rd is Linotype Day at the Museum of Printing!
Linotype Day will be a hot-metal extravaganza with live demos on our Linotype and Ludlow. Here’s an overview of the activities:
The Linotype is one of the mainstay methods to set type, especially small-size body text, for newspapers, magazines, and posters from the late 19th century to the 1970s and 1980s.
Shown in photo: Museum of Printing volunteer Chris Bradford on the phone troubleshooting a Linotype problem with master machinist Dave Seat of Tennessee to make sure our Linotype is up and running for Linotype Day (Saturday, September 23rd).
