A new exhibition entitled Lines/Divide opens October 7, 2019 at Boston East Gallery in East Boston. Work from nine local artists examines the ways in which divisions threaten, and continuity is celebrated in our communities. Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 7-9pm.
Lines/Divide is curated by Boston-based photographer and designer Joshua Duttweiler and includes pieces across all media from James Barkley, Padmini Chandrasekaran, Amy Coon, Molly Jensen Haig, Kristen Mallia, Alice H. Kim, Vaish Kumar, and Mary Yang.
Each artist presents their visual response to the exhibition’s thesis as well as an accompanying written reflection. The exhibition statement reads: “Lines are defined as a single point that extends infinitely in both directions. However, too often, divisions threaten to break this continuous connection. The work in Lines/Divide reflect on the separations made concrete and celebrate the differences that bring us together.”
The exhibition is open daily through November 30, 2019, at 126 Border Street, Boston, MA 02128. More information can be found at: https://www.joshuaduttweiler.com/LinesDivide.
