As a complement to the first Second Saturdays' program in February—Layering Part 1: Making Abstract Stained Glass Windows—the McMullen Museum invites children and chaperones to explore the unique characteristics of watercolor paints. After taking a guided tour through the exhibition to examine Rafael Soriano’s layered, light-filled paintings, children will practice layering watercolors to create dynamic, in-depth works of their own. Participation in Layering Part I not required to participate in Layering Part II.
Second Saturdays are free and open to the public. Because seats are limited, participants must register with the museum prior to the event at http://bit.ly/2jggdCU. Due to popular demand, the McMullen Museum is offering a second session of Layering Part II at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 11. Register before it fills up too!
