Rain or shine, come to a day of community at the 14th annual Lakeville Arts & Music Festival. Neighbors meeting neighbors from next door and from all around southeastern Massachusetts, the festival will be sure to bring a day of culture, crafts, and a delicious variety of food, musical entertainment, artistic talents, silent auction, and community memories for everyone who attends.
You will hear the sounds of the many musicians scheduled around the grounds to include The Moldy Suitcases hailing from the greater New Bedford area. For the most part, an acoustic act, The Moldy Suitcases can pick up and play virtually anywhere. The group has a style that sounds classically ‘20s; add a punk-like hootin’ and hollerin’ that has rarely crossed paths with the smooth jazz sound and you’ll be pleasantly entertained. Kim Moberg will sing and play guitar of songs and stories that tug at feelings of melancholy, heartbreak and healing, and Trevor “The Games Man” will stilt walk into the grounds for a few hours of amazement.
Be sure to check out an all-day presentation about the American Civil War with historian Mark Mello, learn the can-can with Jane Avril, have a caricature done by Mark Penta and more.
There will be a variety of artisans selling their beautiful handmade items such as unique photography, hand woven baskets, decoys, a variety of jewelry, different styles of stoneware pottery, weavings, acrylic paintings, and natural body care products, to mention just a few.
