About the Author...
In her own words, Katherine Wela Bogen is “first, a storyteller; second, a scholar-activist; and third, a joyful little freak.” Bisexual and Jewish, she grew up in rural New England. An NIH–funded doctoral student in clinical psychology, studying the intersections of bisexual identity, sexual trauma, sexual functioning, and kink, she has published more than thirty peer-reviewed papers and is the host of the political podcast SuperHumanizer. Bogen’s 500k+ social media followers will recognize her as @k.w.bogen from her public-facing scholar activism. Queering Him, the first in the Avra and Kieran trilogy, is Bogen’s first novel.
About the Book...
For fans of books by Sally Rooney and Luster by Raven Leilani, Katherine Wela Bogen’s debut fiction novel Queering Him explores the intricacies of queer millennial relationships in the form of a scalding hot page-turner. A heart-shattering tale of two unforgettable characters caught beneath an onslaught of shared grief.
Behind her high school bully’s petty torments and childish epithets, Avra recognizes something familiar in Kieran’s lingering, threatened gaze—what if he’s cruel, not because he fears her queerness and her outness, but because he covets it for himself?
A mutual fascination with each other becomes an obsession, tethering Avra and Kieran to each other through early adulthood as they embark on a relationship both perilous and revelatory.
Both an erotic and provocative contribution to social and psychological discourse about bisexuality, queer identity, and kink, Queering Him is the first installment in a trilogy about enemies turned lovers Avra and Kieran and their tumultuous relationship.
