YOU’RE INVITED!
In celebration of Juneteenth and presented by DiDi Delgado and Amanda Shea…
it’s a Juneteenth Slam - An Evening of Rhythm, Rhymes, and Reparations!
DiDi Delgado and #DoneForDiDi are hosting a hybrid (online & in-person)poetry slam on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Nubian Gallery in celebration of Juneteenth - a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in the US.
Food and drink will be available. The slam will be followed by a dance party with the music of DJ Troy Frost! The event will also be livestreamed nationally and internationally on Delgado’s Facebook page so poets and audience members can also participate safely.
This event is a poetry slam, a community celebration, a commemoration and celebration, and a manifestation of awareness for 40 Acres And A School!
This free event is supported by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council, administered by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, as part of Reopen Creative Boston.
