Chorus pro Musica collaborates with Bang On a Can All-Stars in Julia Wolfe’s Anthracite Fields, a Pulitzer Prize-winning oratorio about coal miners at the turn of the 20th century that combines folk, rock, and classical genres. “An unforgettably haunting, harrowing evocation of the plight of Pennsylvania’s coal miners, incorporating many musical styles and effectively shadowy visuals.” –Los Angeles Times


The recording with Bang on a Can All-Stars earned Anthracite Fields a 2015 Grammy nomination for Best Classical Contemporary Composition. CpM is joined by the amplified sextet Bang on a Can All-Stars in their first Boston appearance in nearly a decade.
