QUINCY, MASS. – The best of Quincy new and old meet on Thursday, Sept. 29 in a fundraiser for Quincy Historical Society. This elegant reception will feature delicious new dishes from acclaimed restaurateurs Jimmy Liang and Peter Tse of JP Fuji Group, the red-hot restaurant company based here in the City of Presidents that operates 10 eateries in Greater Boston’s trendiest neighborhoods.
Tickets cost $50 each and can be purchased here (https://www.razoo.com/us/story/Quincy-Historical-Society).
JP Fuji Group was just named the 2016 Small Business of the Year by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Fuji Group’s newest restaurant, Fuji at West of Chestnut (WOC) in Quincy Center’s Hancock District, is expected to open in early 2017.
“We’re excited to help an institution that’s played such an important role in preserving the history of our exceptional city,” said Liang, a Quincy native, who was featured recently in a lengthy Huffington Post interview.
The reception and auction will take place at Quincy Historical Society’s home at the Adams Academy (8 Adams St., Quincy Center), a Gothic Revival masterpiece steps from Quincy Center T on the MBTA Red Line. The academy, a National Historic Landmark built in 1872, was funded by the estate of native son President John Adams. It sits on the site of the parsonage where famed patriot John Hancock was born in Quincy in 1735.
Guests will enjoy beer and wine, plus hors d’oeuvres prepared by Liang and JP Fuji Group chef Ming Cao. Highlighting the food selection: a sneak preview of their new “WOC”-fried noodles, an expected signature item at the Fuji Group’s pending hometown flagship eatery Fuji at West of Chestnut (WOC). West of Chestnut is a new luxury residential development in Quincy Center and one of the anchors of the neighborhood’s rapid gentrification.
Money raised at the reception will go toward general funding and preservation activities of the Quincy Historical Society, which includes the upkeep of the historic Adams Academy building and its museum chronicling the critical role Quincy has played in American history.
