The N&P Colombian Duo are string harpist Nicolas Castañeda Lozano and violinist Pilar Zorro, both native Colombians. They set out to translate Colombian traditional music through nontraditional instrumentation: violin and Colombian harp. With the use of contemporary instrumental techniques for these instruments, their goal is to expose Colombian music in a new and exciting way and share it worldwide.

Nicolas Castañeda Lozano is an outstanding llanera harp performer originally from Bogata who has received numerous awards as a solo harpist and composer. He currently resides in Boston after coming to the city to attend Berklee where he majored in jazz composition. Nicolas led a workshop on Colombian music in early 2016 for Journeys in Sound where he explained and demonstarted the many different regional music styles from Colombia including "cumbia", "pasillos", "currulaos", and "joropos", amongst others.

Pilar Zorro is a classically trained violinist, also originally from Bogata, She came to Boston to study Contemporary Improvisation at the New Engand Conservatory where she explored many styles of music. In 2015, Pilar was one of five violinists who particpated in a Journeys in Sound 2016 violin workshop called "Bow & Strings; The World of Violin" which featured fellow violinists from Jordan, South Africa, and the US. In 2015 she put together Kontra Quartet, one of the most diverse and musically intoxicating groups that have played the Journeys in Sound series. The group featured her and Nicolas on violin and Columbian string harp respectively along with the great Turkish born vocalist Burcu Gulec and the very versatile Korean gayogeum player Do Yeon Kim.

Naty Hernandez, or simply Naty, is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, acoustic and electric bassist native of Medellín, Colombia. Her music is a sonic journey that merges the rhythms from the Andean mountains in Colombia with jazz, pop and world music sounds. While her music is deeply rooted in Colombian rhythms such as bambuco, guabina and pasillo, Naty’s music approach brings her to lead a new generation of Colombian women composers as her music continues to revitalize the traditional repertoire.
