José Mateo Ballet Theatre is poised to add to its 30-year tradition of bringing its magical production of The Nutcracker to Boston, featuring more than 100 children with substantial dancing roles. This beloved holiday classic, set to Tchaikovsky's masterful score, comes to the Emerson Cutler Majestic with the story of a young girl who receives a nutcracker as a Christmas Eve gift and dreams of an enchanted adventure full of excitement, romance and plenty of Sugar Plum Fairies.
