American Idol runner-up and 17-time Grand Ole Opry performer brings a new generation of traditional country music to Saugus on August 15
WHAT:
Louisiana country singer-songwriter John Foster will make his first Boston-area concert appearance in an intimate performance at Kowloon’s Tiki on Broadway.
The concert will feature Foster’s original music, including “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” “Just As She Was Leaving” and “Weatherman,” along with selections reflecting the traditional-country sound that carried him to the finale of American Idol.
WHO:
Foster emerged as the Season 23 runner-up on American Idol and has since established himself as one of country music’s most closely watched young artists. Since making his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 7, 2025, he has performed on the celebrated Nashville stage 17 times.
His music combines the storytelling heart of 1980s and 1990s country with a fresh, contemporary voice rooted in his Louisiana upbringing, Christian faith and commitment to traditional country music.
“John Foster is one of those rare young artists who does not have to imitate traditional country music—he understands it,” said producer Frederick J. Balboni Jr. “He respects where the music came from, but he is not looking backward. He is carrying it forward with his own voice, his own songs and a genuine connection with audiences.”
VENUE:
The performance will take place at Kowloon’s Tiki on Broadway, part of the nationally recognized Kowloon Restaurant and Entertainment Complex on Route 1 North.
