Concert is titled "Nature's Keyboard, a Jazz Celebration in Music and Multimedia." Jazz classics and original compositions, including the world premiere of “Aurora", inspired by the Hall’s “Aurora” bas-relief.
John Chmaj began his professional career in Boston, earning a BM in jazz composition from
Berklee College of Music and an MM in classical theory from New England Conservatory. He subsequently served on the faculty of the Conservatory, until 1987; also, at this time he was active as a jazz pianist, composer, and choral singer at Boston’s Arlington Street Church. A performer and resident in the Seattle area since 1995, John has produced over 100 unique musical events and has over 200 original compositions to his credit. Most recently he has been producing multimedia compositions and performances that integrate music and animated visuals to create compelling new experiences of nature, art and culture.
