Jay O'Callahan at Gloucester Stage Company July 18 at 7:30pm
"I was seven when we moved into Pill Hill, a neighborhood of big old houses. It was called Pill Hill because there were doctors everywhere. I made lots of friends and loved the big parties my parents had because of the songs and sense of excitement. Fathers, uncles and sons were back from the war. It felt like life was beginning again. Slowly I become aware of prejudices like icicles cutting into my soul. For a child Pill Hill was lively, confusing, sad and wonderful."
“an undoubted triumph...” Irish Literary Supplement.
O’Callahan will be presenting an evening of Pill Hill stories at the Gloucester Stage Company July 18 at 7:30. He’s performed these stories in London, at The Abbey Theatre in Dublin, and at The Lincoln Center in New York. This is a rare chance to hear him tell these stories locally. Tickets sell out quickly. Tickets may be purchased at www.gloucesterstage.com or at 978-281-4433.
