Japan Festival Boston 2026

The 2026 Japan Festival Boston will once again be hosted at the historic Boston Common on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th. Below, we have gathered all the information you could want about this year’s festival, from stage performers to food vendors and so much more!

• Cosplay: This year there will be a Cosplay Fashion Show and Cosplay Death Match.
• Stage Events: We have multiple performers lined up for the Main Stage and Downtown Outdoor Stage, as well as contests, raffles, and more!
• Workshops: Check out our wide variety of interactive workshops to explore hands-on Japanese culture.
• Food Vendors: From ramen, to onokomiyaki, you’re sure to find authentic Japanese food to satisfy every palate!
• Booths: Every year, we have various booths, from Japanese beauty vendors to local college study abroad programs.
• Sustainability: As with last year, we are heavily focusing on sustainability. By partnering with sustainability sponsors, recycling festival garbage, and educating our guests, we hope to make our festival environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The festival is rain or shine. As long as it is safe to do so, the festival will continue! If for some reason we must cancel due to weather, we will post it on our homepage and across social media.

Founded in 2012

The first Japan Festival Boston was hosted in 2012, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the gift of cherry blossom trees from Tokyo to Washington D.C. Since then, we have grown to become the largest Japanese festival on the East Coast.

A Real Matsuri
