This unique monthly master classes is guided by this important teaching from BKS Iyengar: “Asana done from the brain makes one heavy and from the heart makes one light.”
The first session will focus on standing poses and arm balancing. The next month, we’ll work on seated poses and arm balancing, followed by inversions and twists, backbends and twists, and finally Pranayama. Then we’ll go back to the beginning of the cycle. Each month is new, and nuanced.
These Master Classes are designed for yoga students who are interested in learning how familiar, basic poses prepare the body, mind, and spirit to explore more advanced poses.
If you are working with injuries or chronic conditions, you should be able to follow the sequence while modifying appropriately and as suggested.

April 2: Seated Poses & Arm Balancing
May 7: Inversions & Twists
June 4: Backbends & Twists
July 9: Preparatory Asanas & Advanced Pranayama
