Directed by Elia Suleiman (Germany, 2019, 97 min.). English, French, and Arabic with English subtitles. Comedy.
A man escapes from Palestine seeking an alternative homeland, only to find that Palestine is trailing behind him. The promise of a new life turns into a comedy of errors: however far he travels, from Paris to New York, something always reminds him of home. From award-winning Palestinian director Elia Suleiman comes a comic saga exploring identity, nationality, and belonging, in which Suleiman asks the fundamental question: Is there a place we can truly call home?
Winner of the FIPRESCI international critics’ trophy and selected for Special Mention at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Palestine's entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.
