Hop on a boat to Choate Island and go for a 3-mile guided jaunt with views of Essex Bay. The island has a variety of birds and animals who inhabit the surrounding salt marsh and spruce forest. The hike will then be followed by lunch which includes gourmet sandwiches plus fruit, cookies, and drinks. This hike is approachable for beginners, and you should bring multiple non-cotton layers to protect from wind as well as sneakers or other footwear you don't mind getting muddy.
