Science by the Pint is a free science café in which we invite a Boston-area research lab out to a pub or brewery to chat science over a cold one. The events are geared toward a general audience – all are welcome and no experience is necessary!
This week's event features:
Dr. Curtis Woodcock
Professor of Earth & Environment
Boston University
Dr. Curtis Woodcock is a member of the Earth and Environment faculty at Boston University. He specializes in using satellite imagery to monitor long-term changes in forests and land cover down here on Earth. His lab connects this remote sensing data to important environmental issues, including carbon emissions and the positive impacts of urban vegetation. In addition to leading his lab, Dr. Woodcock is the Chief Scientist for the US Geological Survey Initiative on Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection as well as team leader for the Landsat Science Team.
