This week, Berklee student and Mmmmaven alumni Katharine Fountain will share some of her favourite tips and techniques for maximizing Ableton Live’s Drum Rack feature. This workshop will teach you how to choose (and where to find!) the best drum samples, and how to construct a dynamic and natural sounding kit.
Additionally, Katharine will show you how you can use Ableton’s Launch Modes to break free from a creative slump and mix up your beats. Other topics to be covered include workflow, creating breaks, and an overview of genre specific drum patterns and programming.

She considers the experience to be life changing in terms of her development as an artist, and uses the skills, tools and techniques she developed there regularly in her musical productions
She is interested in music from many genres, and draws inspiration from a wide variety of artists. Her influences include Odesza, Flume, RAC, Etta James, Death Cab For Cutie, Beyonce and Lana Del Rey.
