In this session, we’ll explore what it means to lead with an equity lens, whether you are a program leader, director, coach, or teacher. Using the National Association for the Education of Young children Advancing Equity position statement as a framework, this session will focus on specific strategies and tools equity leaders can implement on the administrative level, working with staff and working with families.


We’ll share a preschool curriculum about “identity” and what children, teachers, families, and leaders learned from it. We will focus on tools and strategies program directors and teachers can use to lead with an equity lens, including creating the culture and climate for chance, evaluating procedures, and policies to support equity. This session will include small group discussion and time for participants to apply ideas to their own setting.
