Innovation Bioscience Initiative:
Innovation Bioscience is a training and incubation initiative focused on bridging the gap between biomedical research and healthcare need. The Deep Dives in Entrepreneurship series provide an opportunity to learn about upcoming training opportunities as well as learn from and connect with the vibrant start-up community of Greater Boston.

This session of Deep Dives in Entrepreneurship will focus on Demystifying Intellectual Property (IP). IP can be an asset when creating new ventures and can serve as the nucleating point for many start-ups. As we look to a future of growing unmet healthcare need, and a growing stockpile of IP locked within “academia”, we see an opportunity for biomedical professionals to make a significant impact through leveraging their domain expertise and entrepreneurial training.

Deep Dive Entrepreneurship Speakers:
•John N. Anastasi, JD, Founding Partner Lando & Anastasi, LLP

Leading this Deep Dives in Entrepreneurship session will be John Anastasi one of the founding partners of Lando & Anastasi, LLP. John and his team will lead an open and “demystifying” discussion into the realm of IP and the life sciences.

John has counseled and represented clients of all sizes and technologies to help identify, protect and leverage their intellectual property rights. He has extensive experience strategically developing, securing and enforcing worldwide patent and trademark portfolios and licensing clients’ intellectual property and technology rights.
John enjoys and is very good at serving as IP counsel for clients and engaging his network to enable clients to achieve their business goals. His clients include multinational corporations, mid-sized companies, early-stage and venture-backed companies, as well as entrepreneurs and investors.

John has worked with clients across a broad range of technologies, including optical devices and systems, wireless devices and systems, automated test equipment, imaging devices, semiconductor circuits and fabrication, analog circuits and systems, microwave and RF devices, systems and antennas, various consumer products, medical devices, and software.
