THIS IS THE MORNING SESSION!
Learn the basics of indigo dyeing by exploring a variety of techniques. Traditional shibori, resist, and pole-dyeing techniques will be included with hands-on help. Each participant will be provided with a set of 4 cloth napkins to dye. These make an excellent gift! You will also have a choice of items to purchase to dye for $5-$20, and you may bring a prewashed item to dye. We recommend 100% cotton or silk fabrics for best results. No previous experience necessary. Come have fun, get messy, explore and see what you can do!
Fiber Arts Boston Resource and Innovation Center (FABRIC) is a community space founded in June 2017 for the advancement of fiber art in our community. Our users encompass all levels of experience – from very beginners to people running handmade businesses. At FABRIC we strive to serve a wide range of people by offering classes and workshops, a varied selection of tools, books, and notions. Everything in our studio is available to use with a Day Pass and visitors can browse our book collection, ask questions, sit and work on their projects, or wind a ball of yarn with our swift and ball winder free of charge.
