Join Papercuts J.P. in celebrating Independent Bookstore Day, 2015!


"Following the runaway success of last year’s California Bookstore Day, bookstores across the nation are now preparing for Independent Bookstore Day, a country-wide celebration of books and independent bookstores on May 2nd. From Bend to Brooklyn, book lovers should mark their calendars for this special day of literary parties."


Papercuts J.P. will host events all day, including live music from RIck Berlin and Club Mediterranean, special appearances by authors Jabari Asim, Writer (ONLY THE STRONG), Randy Susan Meyers (ACCIDENTS OF MARRIAGE), Paul Tremblay (A HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS), and Chris Irvin (BURN CARDS), as well as children's book illustrator Katia Wish Illustration (SOPHIE'S ANIMAL PARADE). Customers are encouraged to sign up for our open mic hour, spelling bee, and bookstore bingo!


Sixteen exclusive books and bookish ephemera, released exclusively for for Independent Bookstore Day 2015 will be available only on May 2 at Papercuts J.P.!


May 2, 2015:


11:00 am: First 25 visitors get a free muffin from neighboring Blue Frog Bakery!


12:00 pm: Live music from Rick Berlin with Mary Cooper ft. readings by Tim Johnson


2:00 pm: Illustrator hour with Katia Wish (SOPHIE'S ANIMAL PARADE): Bring your kids to make animal paper crafts


3:00 pm: Ask Margie, AKA Randy Susan Meyers (ACCIDENTS OF MARRIAGE): JP author and advice columnist from Beyond the Margins will answer pre-submitted questions on life, love, and literature. Ask yours here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DPF9XW5


4:00 pm: Jabari Asim reads from his book of short stories, A TASTE OF HONEY

6:00 pm: Chris Irvin (BURN CARDS) and Paul Tremblay (A HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS) discuss their favorite crime and horror short stories


7:00 pm: Live music by Club Mediterranean will accompany drunk coloring hour--literary-themed cocktails and inebriated authors' coloring book pages! Be sure to hit up any local bars but may we recommend Brenden Behan or Eugene O'Neill's beforehand.
