Have you heard about the Metro Boston Independent Bookstore Day Trolley Tour?
You can celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with a trolley tour to 7 different Boston-area indies. Riders will have twenty minutes to browse each shop and participate in their unique Independent Bookstore Day celebrations before heading to their next bookstore. Tours begin at 10:00 am and last until approximately 2:00 pm. Tours begin and end at the same store. We're on Route A with Porter Square Books (start), Book Ends, Belmont Books, Harvard Book Store, I AM Books, and MIT Press Bookstore!
*What is Independent Bookstore Day?
Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different. But in addition to authors, live music, cupcakes, scavenger hunts, kids events, art tables, readings, barbecues, contests, and other fun stuff, there are exclusive books and literary items that you can only get on that day. Not before. Not after. Not online.
Here at Trident, we will host FIVE LOCAL Boston authors to mingle with customers and sign books. These folks are right in your own backyard! Here is the lineup:
4:00 - 4:30pm: Noel Foy
4:40 - 5:10pm: Steven and Chieri DeGregorio
5:20 - 5:50pm: Erica Boyce
6:00 - 6:30pm: Lorenzo Petruzziello

*Why are we celebrating independent bookstores?
Independent bookstores are not just stores, they’re community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.
In a world of tweets and algorithms and pageless digital downloads, bookstores are not a dying anachronism. They are living, breathing organisms that continue to grow and expand. In fact, there are more of them this year than there were last year. And they are at your service.
