View the 186-year-old Dry Dock 1 in the Charlestown Navy Yard with Margherita Desy, Historian with USS Constitution, for a 1 ½ hour tour. Learn about the building of the dry dock, its importance to the 19th and 20th century U.S. Navy, and the dock’s history with “Old Ironsides”, the first warship to enter the dock on June 24, 1833.
This tour requires participants to be able to climb steep and long flights of stairs in and out of the dry dock and to be exposed to the sun; not recommended for children under the age of 10; closed-toe shoes/sneakers a must.
