il Casale Cucina Campana & Bar Josetta Saffirio Wine Dinner in Lexington

Honoring the distinguished Piedmontese vineyard, il Casale Cucina Campagna + Bar in Lexington invites guests to the Josetta Saffirio Wine Dinner on Thursday, March 15th. Brothers Dante, Filippo and Damian specialize in importing superior Italian wines to il Casale; Josetta Saffirio is the latest part of this established tradition. Sara and Marco Saffirio, descendants of the company creator and matriarch Josetta, will be onsite to answer questions and discuss the various wines created in the Langhe hills. Chef Dante has crafted a spectacular four-course meal, where each dish is expertly paired with wine complimenting the rich flavor notes.

Tracing back its roots to the late 19th century, the Josetta Saffirio winery was born in 1975 when daughter Josetta revitalized her father’s vineyards. The “Barolo” red wine, made from Nebbiolo grapes native to northern Italy, made a big splash and paved the road for Josetta Saffirio to become one of Europe’s most renowned wineries. In remembrance of her father, Josetta designed a series of playful garden gnomes that are featured on every bottle produced. Wine selections range from dark Barbera reds to dessert Moscato.
