Join the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and New England Conservatory for “Hope Is the Hardest Love We Carry,” a chamber composition by Linda J. Chase. The program also features poet Jane Hirshfield, who will read her own poetry and translations (with Mariko Aratani) of thousand-year-old Japanese poems by Izumi Shikibu and Ono no Komachi.
Chase's composition was composed following her Japan Foundation residency, which coincided with the 3/11/11 Great East Japan earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.
Tickets are $16 for MFA members and $20 for nonmembers.
Performers include New England Conservatory faculty members, flutist Linda J. Chase, pianist Hankus Netsky, and students from New England Conservatory’s Contemporary Improvisation Department.
The performance will take place in the MFA's Harry and Mildred Remis Auditorium (Auditorium 161).
