Boston Sculptors Gallery Launchpad is proud to present: Home/Enthroned, an exhibition of sculpture by Evan Morse will be on view at Boston Sculptors Gallery August 28th to September 28. Receptions are Friday, September 5, 5-8:30 pm and Saturday, September 13, 2-5 pm.
The marble, plaster, and bronze sculptures in Evan Morse’s exhibition Home/Enthroned seek to elevate ordinary moments of interior lives, depicting people relaxing at home or going about everyday routines. Watching a movie on the couch is often a private activity, but it is also a nearly universal experience in modern life that most can relate to. Many of the sculptures in Home/Enthroned specifically reference historical precedents to leverage the visual language of the powerful for an ironic turn. The exhibition features work both in relief and in-the-round.
