Local nonprofit Phinney's Friends' signature event is back: Santa Pictures and Holiday shopping for a cause
The halls of Lincoln's Pierce House Mansion will be decked with boughs of holly on November 11, 2018 when its doors open to the public for the town's most unique holiday festival, Paws for the Holidays. This event-100% of the proceeds for which goes to local non-profit Phinney's Friends mission of helping low-income people keep their pets in times of hardship-is made jolly through delicious food, live music, holiday shopping from local artisans, and a lively silent auction.
The Festival, running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be filled with the delicious smells of hot chocolate, cookies, and popcorn; the inviting sounds of live holiday music; and unique arts and crafts, holiday baskets, and pet supplies, solving all your shopping needs.
"We want the Holiday Festival to be a chance to celebrate the holiday season with friends, family, and neighbors," says Daniela Caride, Phinney’s Friends President, "while helping both animals and the low-income members of our community during the season for giving."
What's more, the mansion is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your canine friends-and your kids! The Festival will have a room with activities for children as well, such as face painting. And what holiday festival would be complete without a visit from the Jolly Big Man himself? Santa will be on hand throughout the whole event to take family pictures (of your two-legged and four-legged family members alike!).
"Paws for the Holidays will be a fun-filled day event for the whole family," says Caride. "The ones who love animals will also be able to purchase pet costumes, toys, treats and winter jackets," she adds.
