Weather this year in October seems pretty kind compared to last year! Is that still possible to go to alpine zone without getting us fighting against the elements? Beware; It’s winter up there!
In this hike, who is ready for some cave style hike? Yup! I’m talking about the subway in kings ravine! You will be crawling, trying to fit between walls of boulders… Think like you will be re incarnated into a Gollum. Then once, we will be done… we will attack the ascension of Chemins des dames…. 0.4 mile with 800ft of elevation gain to reach the airline. VERY STEEP you got it? You will be using your hands for scrambling and half climbing… Like a tarantula-man! 2 mini terrifying 25… Does it sound exciting???
I see little people wondering whether we can go to Mount adams? The answer will depends on the weather, the pace of the team, the daylight, how you are prepared for this hike, depending on my motivation to go for the 3rd time up there in a year, and mostly whether you have a proper behavior for hiking in group…
The weather that day, and your experience in winter hiking will be crucial to maintain, modify, or cancel the hike. I am not feeling very pleased to hike under 70mph wind into the clouds pouring rain/snow with a group….
