North Kinsman and South Kinsman are 4,000 footers located at Franconia Notch. North Kinsman is 4,293 ft., while South Kinsman is 4,358 ft. We'll be hiking to the Kinsmans via the Lonesome Lake, Fishing Jimmy, and Kinsman Ridge trails, totaling 8.8 miles out-and-back. There are some great views at South Kinsman of Franconia Ridge, but North Kinsman is a wooded summit.


Gear


You must have 2 - 3 liters of water, hiking boots (not regular tennis shoes - no exceptions), food, bug spray, hat, glasses, electrolyte replacement (Gatorade, etc), a layer in case of cold, non-cotton socks, and a copy of the route as located on AllTrails or other similar source. Absolutely no jeans.


Previous Experience


You must have previous hiking experience with an elevation gain of 2,000+ feet. This is not total elevation - elevation gain is the total number of feet you ascend throughout a trip. Not sure if you're ready? Send an email to check.
