North Kinsman and South Kinsman are 4,000 footers located at Franconia Notch. North Kinsman is 4,293 ft., while South Kinsman is 4,358 ft. We'll be hiking to the Kinsmans via the Lonesome Lake, Fishing Jimmy, and Kinsman Ridge trails, totaling 8.8 miles out-and-back. There are some great views at South Kinsman of Franconia Ridge, but North Kinsman is a wooded summit.

This is not a guided hike and you are required to know the route and have a copy of the map.


Gear


-Warm layers, including rain gear, gloves, and a hat. Never know what the weather can turn out like.


-2-3 liters of water


-hiking boots. Sneakers not acceptable.


-a map of the hike. This could be a digital copy like AllTrails (provided above) or Gaia GPS, or a printed map of the route. If you do not have AllTrails, printing maps can be accomplished by printing a screenshot of the full route.


-Lunch/snacks of some description.


-Microspikes
