*You must have previous experience with hikes in the White Mountains. This hike is not for beginners*
Leave your mark on the mighty Hancocks. North and South Hancock provide great views of the Osceolas as well as Franconia and Crawford Notch. The 9.1 mile route can be viewed here and will be 2,600ft of elevation gain.
NOTE: We will be taking the counterclockwise route on the Hancock loop, up North Hancock first.
This is not a guided hike and you are required to know the route and have a copy of the map.
A trip report for the route can be seen here.
All listed gear is required. I will be screening everyone going on this hike.
-Warm non-cotton layers, including rain gear. Never know what the weather can turn out like.
-2-3 liters of water
-hat and gloves
-hiking boots. Sneakers not acceptable, even trail runners.
-a map of the hike. This could be a digital copy like Alltrails (provided above) or Gaia GPS, or a printed map of the route. If you do not have alltrails, printing maps can be accomplished by printing a screenshot of the full route.
-Lunch/snacks of some description. Gatorade/electrolytes of some description optional but recommended. We're going to be covering a lot of distance and burning a lot of energy, best not to be conking out four miles out in the wilderness.
After the hike, we will be going out for dinner if time permits. Need to recover some of that energy, and celebrate summiting two 4000 footers.
