We've had a rainy summer so far and it's been tough to find hiking days. Monday looks like a partly sunny 77, so I'm thinking those of us with flexible work/school can make it a long weekend and take the day off to enjoy the mountains!

Osceola is one of the 48 4,000 footers in NH, offering a killer view of the White Mountains.

The trail is 6 miles long, covering 2070 ft of elevation gain. It's full of open rock faces we'll need to scramble over - very fun but can be challenging. You'll definitely want grippy shoes for this one.

We'll be hiking at a moderate pace, with multiple stops along the way, and a long one (~1 hr) at the main peak to enjoy ourselves and take in the sights. This is where we can lounge out and soak in some much needed quiet time in nature.

If you are looking to go fast, not take your time enjoying the scenery, or go off on your own, this is not the hike for you!

Though we won't be trail running, you should understand that this gets steep in parts and there is a bit of scrambling to do. Hiking footwear with good traction is required for this trip.

We won't be pushing it and will take plenty of breaks, but you need to be able to hike around 1.5 miles/hr to join this trip. Please make sure you can do it, as it won't make sense to keep the whole group back for the day for one person and we will have to split up. Do not sign up otherwise and please message if you are unsure.

Can't wait!
