The Heavy Metal Horns came onto the Boston music scene in the late 80’s and thrived throughout the 90's. They quickly became one of top bands in the city – winning awards, selling out shows and playing major jazz festivals across the country. The horn section played on Extreme's “Stop The World” tour in 1993. This led to being signed to the Japanese record label Polystar Records. The band toured the U.S. over the next five years and continued to play until early 2000. 


In 2016 the legendary club Johnny D’s announced it was closing its doors. The club asked if the Heavy Metal Horns could play a show as one of the clubs most popular acts. This show was amazing and the audience said we had to keep playing. Every year since 2016 the band plays a show.


The Heavy Metal Horns sold out big boat cruises, The Cabot Theater in Beverly, MA three times. Last year the band performed at The Cut Live in Gloucester, MA. This show was recorded and “Heavy Metal Horns Live From The Cut” will be released in August 2025.
