When the ukulele craze swept the world, songwriters of many genres clamored to write for and about the ukulele. Learn to play tunes from Tin Pan Alley and Hapa Haole songs with Hawaiian subject matter, such as "The Hukilau Song" and "Ukulele Lady." While somewhat controversial as a musical genre ("Hapa Haole" means "half-foreign" in Hawaiian), the songs can also serve as a gateway to authentic Hawaiian music and culture.Instructor: Amy Kucharik
