The Harvard Ballet Company's Fall 2019 production centers on the experiences and voices of womxn. Inspired by the personal stories and experiences of our members, this show will offer a triple bill of entirely original works, all choreographed by womxn and set to the music of womxn composers. Through this show, we will ask what it means to take up space as a womxn in society today and explore, through the medium of dance, how the successes and difficulties of being a womxn are embodied within us. Ultimately, our production serves as both a means of telling womxn-focused stories and as a space to showcase womxn voices in the performing and visual arts. We hope to not only empower our own dancers and choreographers by giving them a voice and medium to discuss matters around womxnhood, but also give the audience a space to process them as well.
