Hammond Castle Museum welcomes guests to tour the many rooms of the home and laboratory of John Hays Hammond Jr., renowned as one of the most prolific American inventors of the 20th century and famously known as the Father of Radio Control.
Throughout the 2026 season guests can also enjoy a completely updated Invention Room, showcasing exciting new perspectives on Hammond’s work as a scientist, inventor and engineer, as well as a brand-new set of rotating exhibits, including “Inside the Faraday Cage: The Science of Things that Aren’t So” in the spring and summer and “Brave Too Much: The Legend of John Coffee Hays” in the fall and winter. We offer two options for daily admission: Guided and Self-Guided tours.

Please note: the last entrance into the Museum is at 2:45 pm sharp. The Museum and Grounds close promptly at 3:30 pm. We recommend planning at least 60 minutes to explore the grounds and interior galleries of the Museum.
The Hammond Castle Museum is a historic landmark built in the late 1920s, and as such is not handicapped accessible and presents challenges for visitors with mobility impairments, as it features numerous stairs.
