Haley House Slam

"The House Slam” at the Haley House Café (12 Dade Street, Boston, 02119) is Boston’s poetry slam venue located in the heart of Dudley Square. The venue offers awesome food, an open mic, a featured poet and a poetry slam every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. The venue is free of cost and welcoming to all (18+).

APRIL 27th SCHEDULE & LOGISTICS:

6:30pm-Doors Open
7:15pm- Poetry Slam begins (1st Round)
8:15pm-Feature: Ashlee Haze
9:00pm- Poetry Slam will resume (2nd & 3rd Round)

** There will be NO Open Mic on April 27th.

**We will select judges in line. Judges will have priority seating and entrance into the venue. Then, competing poets will be allowed in. Then, the remaining members of the audience will be allowed in until we reach capacity. First come, first served. Due to the small space, this is the best way to go about entering the venue to ensure a fair slam.

**We fill our space quickly. We recommend you coming AT or BEFORE 6:15pm. Also, please bring your ID's. This venue is 18+.

A REMINDER FOR THE POETS:

Each poet will perform three (3-minute) poems during the slam. Scores will be cumulative. Poets will draw for the order of each round. One poem must be new to the Haley House venue. No repeats from Semi-Finals or Last Chance

Finalists are comprised of the top scoring poets from our March 23rd- Team Semifinals Slam; as well as our Last Chance Slam Winner.

Five individuals will represent the House Slam at the 2018 National Poetry Slam in Chicago, IL

Parking is free and plentiful— The House Slam is also extremely accessible via Orange Line, Silver Line, and numerous bus routes.
