Sorriso Vino Brookline is partnering with Brookline Adult & Community Education to offer guided wine and spirit tastings. Alcohol is included in the tuition and may be picked up prior to the start of the class at Sorriso Vino Brookline at 27 Harvard Street. The instructor is Sommelier Nicholas Lisotto. Having built food and beverage programs around the country, chef & sommelier Nick Lisotto will take you through a guided tasting of procured spirits and wines from his private collection. Each session will have a specific theme and the classes are meant to be fun, casual, interactive experiences. Wines from Sicily had a horrible reputation years ago, from being run by the mafia to their abundance of bulk wine. What this means for us is that they now have to make wines of great quality and expression to get noticed in the market. These are three wines, that you should start drinking from Sicily! Grillo (wonderfully structured white wine, with vibrant acidity and minerality); Nerello Mascalese (a better Pinot Noir with great fruit and structure with a volcanic kick!); and Nero D'Avola (a seductive and luscious red wine that over delivers). Students must be over the age of 21 to participate in this class.
