Discover how to combine mindfulness and photography in a contemplative method called Flow-tography at the Esplanade Association’s guided photography tours. Flow-tography helps you take better photos and experience beauty more deeply simultaneously.
During the one hour guided photo walk you will:
— Pick up a few composition tips for taking better photos
— Practice mindful walking linking your breath to your steps to go slow
— See more deeply and capture the beauty of nature with a fresh eye
— Meet some like-minded people who also love photography
— An evening stroll along the Esplanade is a great way to reduce stress and relax at the end of a busy day. Photography is a perfect way to capture and share moments of beauty. — Flow-tography combines the best of these two paths and leads you to a new way of seeing while being in nature.
You can create photographs rather than take snapshots as a result. It is not just about "getting the shot", it is about experiencing the simple moments of life that make us feel awake, alive and creative. All it requires is our full attention and slowing down. What better place to try this out than along the Esplanade. Bring your camera or smartphone and learn how to take your photos from like to LOVE.
Guided walking tours last about an hour and cover about a mile of the Esplanade.
About your guide:
Suzanne Merritt is the Founder of the Curious Soul Photo School located at the Boston Center for the Arts in the South End and author of Flow-tography. Prior to starting her own business, she was the founder of the Polaroid Creativity. Suzanne is a master level photography instructor.
