Where do seeds come from? Can you find seeds in your own kitchen? In this hands on workshop series, we collectively germinate our own seeds at home using the materials we have at hand. Each week we will track their growth, make predictions, and share our observations.
At the end of each session, we will also have the opportunity to virtually meet farmers who are out growing our food!
Geared towards children in 2nd-4th grade, but open to all.
If you have them in your house, please gather the following materials for the hands on component:
-soil w/ small container for planting OR ziplock back and wet paper towel
-seeds of any kind OR be prepared to find seeds from food in your pantry!
-paper and pencil for observational drawings
If you don't have any of these, that's completely fine! We will be sharing what we're doing on the screen.
(We're grateful for the support of the Godine family making these free programs possible.)
