At approximately 120 acres, the Great Pasture is the largest pasture at Appleton Farms. It has been used for livestock grazing since the 1800s and is deeply connected to both the history of the farm and the work that is still happening today.


Typically, this pasture is off limits to the public but this special guided hike will lead you through this idyllic pastoral landscape, offering the chance to experience it for yourself and learn more about its history and modern usage. This walk will cover uneven and hilly terrain, please wear clothing and shoes appropriate for hiking of this type. We will also take a break at Pigeon Hill to sit for a spell and take in the surrounding view of the farm.


Participants will be asked to follow Covid-19 guidelines including wearing face coverings and maintaining social distance. If you are experiencing symptoms, please do not attend the hike.


Space is limited and early registration is strongly suggested.
